Committees

Helping our Jamaica Hills community remain a welcoming urban oasis for all.

Committees

Zoning

The Jamaica Hills Association Zoning Committee reviews neighborhood projects that seek zoning relief. The committee evaluates proposals before they are presented to the Board of the Association. It also helps neighbors, developers, and abutters understand the review process before the appeal for relief is presented to the City’s Zoning Board of Appeals. In our Jamaica Plain district, this involves the Neighborhood Development Overlay District (NDOD), the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, and the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council,

Public Safety

Hosts the Area E13 community officer of the BPD to present monthly crime statistics for discussion. Support neighbors with issues regarding street and or sidewalk repairs, parking issues or other public-safety issues.

Institutional Outreach

The Institutional Chair serves as a liaison between the institutions in the neighborhood and the Jamaica Hill Association Board. Duties include developing a strong relationship with representatives of each institution . They report monthly on any activities, requests and / or changes that are happening.

Social

Organizes an array of social and recreational activities held throughout the year which can be enjoyed by JHA members and their guests. These activities provide a venue for our neighborhood community to get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere.
