Zoning Notices

Introduction

From time to time requests for building permits are denied because of zoning code violations. In such cases, the applicant may appeal to the Boston Zoning Board of Appeal for relief from the zoning code. Before a case can be heard by the ZBA, applicants must first inform their neighbors about their proposed project and then present their case before the JHA Board.

In other zoning cases, the institutions in our residential community might be planning property improvements or developments. Institutions work closely with the JHA to schedule public meetings to address residents’ concerns.

The dates of any public information meetings or zoning cases scheduled to go before the JHA Board are listed below.

To inquire about as-of-right projects, which are not presented before the JHA Board, please contact Boston’s Inspectional Services Department: www.cityofboston.gov/isd.
